Your goals drive our actions.Sheraz Barkat is a Washington, D.C. attorney who focuses his practice on family law. He obtained his legal education at West Virginia University, and he also spent time studying comparative family law and international civil litigation in Sydney, Australia. Before entering private practice, Sheraz worked in the United States Senate on the staff of Senator John D. Rockefeller IV. Sheraz has many years of experience litigating and mediating family law casesin Washington, DC. He has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, is Lead Counsel Rated, has an “Excellent” rating and has been named “Client’s Choice” for divorce cases by Avvo. Sheraz is a lecturer with Divorce Mediation Training a national program training mental health professionals on how to mediate divorce cases. Sheraz is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association. He is a volunteer with The Reading Connection, and past volunteer with the Arlington Food Assistance Center, District of Columbia Volunteer Lawyers Project, and Veterans Pro Bono Consortium.
